Proverbs of Solomon
- righteousness delivers from death
- the LORD does not let the righteous go hunry, i.e. The Lord will, will, will provide!
- lazy hands make for poverty but diligent hands bring wealth. We do not just keep 'praying' and yet be lazy and don't be personally responsible for our own actions/behavior and expect God to just deliver whatever we ask of Him.
- don't sleep during harvest! i.e. don't miss the opportunity!!
- whoever walks in integrity will walk securely. actually this is very true. if you never do stuff that jian bu de guang, you won't be afraid that it will be found out by others simply because you have never done such stuff before. therefore, resist temptations!! lead your life in a manner that others will not have a chance to criticize (easier said than done definitely, so gotta pray for grace :))
- hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrong :)
- whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool. isn't that something that we, no, I, may tend to do often?
- what the righteous desire will be granted, amen!
- and actually there are many verse talking about the lips of the righteous/wise and the lips of the evil/perverse/wicked. its interesting to note that how the words that come out of your lips actually is so significant in this proverbs. so don't just anyhow speak, but speak with wisdom. :)
